By bus and by bike: your visit of Paris will be complete!

Vélib' (contraction of "vélo" = bike and "liberty") is the parisian bicycle self-service system, available since summer 2007. By extension, "Vélib" means the bike itself.

The launch of Vélib has been a great success. There are 20,600 bikes available to the public, distributed in 1205 stations. The Vélib system has also been extended to thirty towns in the "inner suburbs" (area of 1.5 km around Paris) with the creation of three hundred new stations, welcoming 4500 bikes.

Wondering how to rent a bike to complete your tour of Paris with Les Cars Rouges ? Nothing easier: you will find at each station, a terminal for requesting the rental of a bicycle, getting information on Vélib's service, or contact an advisor. Some are equipped with a terminal payment by credit card, allowing you to order a short-term subscription.

Subscriptions (day, week or year) can in all cases benefit from a first half-hour free, the following half-hours are more expensive, the maximum hourly rate being reached from the third half-hour.

The filing of a €150 deposit is required. For a short-term contract, (one or seven days) the electronic imprint of the credit card used for payment is registered. If the bike is not returned within 24 hours, the € 150 deposit is collected immediately.

Bicycles are available at any time of day and night, and there's necessarily a Vélib station near one of the nine stops of Les Cars Rouges's circuit ...
