As every summer since 2002, this very popular operation sees the river banks of the Seine covered with 2,000 tons of sand and transformed into a beach.
Until 20 August 2010, 3.5 km of the right bank road of the Seine and the Place de l'Hotel de Ville as well as additional sites - such as La Villette basin since 2007 - host recreational activities and sports, sandy beaches and grass, palm trees...
You can get free access, daily from 8am to midnight, from the bridge 'Pont des Arts' to bridge 'Pont de Sully' and the basin La Villette, to many activities: dance classes, aerobics, pétanque, hiking tours, workshops for children, tai chi, badminton... and sandy beaches where you can relax in the sun.
Many concerts are also offered on Place de l'Hôtel de Ville.
The circuit of Les Cars Rouges takes you to the beach: just hop off at the Louvre or at Notre Dame and walk down to the river banks below!
All practical information, calendar of events and concerts are available at: http://www.paris-plages.fr/
Les Cars Rouges wish you a very pleasant stay in Paris!
