Champs de Mars - Tour EiffelBuilt by Gustave Eiffel, the Eiffel Tower was meant to be a temporary structure – the centrepiece of the World Fair of 1889 that marked the centenary of the French Revolution.
But it was not taken down, and remained for forty years the highest building in the world: 301.80 metres.
It is made up of 18,000 pieces, held together by 2 million rivets, and has become one of the best-known sights in the world
We can only accept folding pushchairs. Also, the Eiffel Tower has no left luggage office, so take this into account before thinking about going up to the top with young children.
In the high season, there are often long waits for the elevators. For those who prefer to take the stairs, the general public are not allowed to use the stairs between the 2nd and 3rd levels.
For your convenience, the Eiffel Tower has toilets on every level and even in the West Pillar on ground level.
